A convicted murderer described by police as dangerous and not to be approached by the public has been lost by the prison service.
Despite being a dangerous murderer serving an indefinite sentence — and convicted only three years ago — the prison service lost her whilst out on an “escorted shopping trip”.
You can imagine the next Alan Johnson announcement: “we’re re-introducing capital punishment: shop till you drop,” or Alistair Darling proclaiming Broken Britain’s 21st century version of the chain gang: cohorts of convicts out on the streets shopping us back to economic health.
God, give me strength.
